MEET THE BLOG: Jeanie Meets World
Hello everyone! Welcome to my site! Jeanie Meets World is a lifestyle blog that I have created as a way to share the insights and lessons I have picked up along this journey called "life". From traveling, to career advice, great eats, and anything in between, I hope you get inspired and find something that is helpful to you in your daily life.

MEET THE BLOGGER: Jeanie Arciaga
Hi, I'm Jeanie :)
My name is Jeanie Arciaga and I am fourth-year student at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). I am currently studying Sociology and Human Development and I hope to pursue a career in the non-profit sector, specifically in areas related to international and/or community development.

I've always been really fascinated with blogging. In fact, if you open my bookmarks folder there are several that I faithfully follow. (Some of my favorites include A Beautiful Mess, ShutterBean, and HungryGirlPorVida). The first time I ever tried to blog myself inspired the creation of Jeanie's Alternative Break, where I wrote about my volunteer experience in Peru. I had so much fun that I finally decided to start a new blog. So, here it is! A collection of my travels, adventures, life lessons, and the things I hope to share with you!

Aside from being a student, I enjoy volunteering in my community, listening to music, and grabbing a cup of coffee with friends.

QUESTIONS
What inspired you to start blogging?
After reading and following other lifestyle blogs, I really wanted to make my own contribution to the blog world. I thought starting my own blog would be a fun way to put my own voice out there.

Where are you from?
I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but during the academic year I reside in San Diego.

What is your favorite quote?
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you have always imagined." - Henry David Thoreau

What is one piece of advice that you would give to others?
Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way! Numerous times, fear and self-consciousness have held me back from accomplishing some amazing things. Never let anything stand in your way! As a professor once told me, you are far better than you are taught to believe
